Fedor Saminski
was born in 1979 in Moscow, as the second of seven siblings. He began his education on the cello at the age of seven in the class of Natalia Timofeeva. After having finished Gnessin Special Music School in 1997 he emigrated to Zürich, where he studied with Walter Grimmer and Roel Dieltiens at the Musikhochschule Zürich. He graduated with a teaching as well as a performing Master in 2002. During his studies he was given several prizes and awards, for examble the Koechert- and the Kiwanis-prize. Fedor Saminski takes a special interest in the differences in use of the historic and the „romantic“ cello. Besides his being a member of the „s-ensemble“ he can be heard in his own project „Annäherungsversuch“ as well as in several other concerts as a soloist and a chamber music player. .
